4:52 PM For the #cozywinter challenge, I wanted to treat us with simple things that make us enjoy Christmas as much as we can! We should slow down right now, enjoy some sweet treats, watch Christmas classics, and just catch those cozy vibes. 
For me, this means treating myself with a rich hot chocolate that fits perfectly to my selfmade cookies and gingerbread... I'm watching my favorite movies and everything is just sweet. 

Today, the #cozywinter challenge promises you the best hot chocolate and the only recipe you'll need.

There we go - let's sip on this hot cocoa heaven and close our eyes...taste all of the different flavors and spices. This is what Christmas feels like... 


YOU NEED 2 1/2 Cups coconut milk + 1/4 Cup unsweetened cacao + 1 pinch of cinnamon (1/4-1/2 teaspoon - the flavor is up to you) + 1 tablespoon maple syrup + 1 pinch of sea salt + 1/2 teaspoon maca (yes, yes, yes!) 

1. Take out a saucepan and heat your coconut milk over medium heat.
2. Add the cacao, cinnamon, sea salt, and yes, maca. If you are not in love yet with maca, you can surely leave it out. I love to add it because it has a natural nut meets caramel flavor. Test a pinch of maca and add more later on if you wish. 
3. Let the mixture cook for a little bit. Rather cook it long on medium heat than burning any spice inside on a super high temperature. 
4. Now add the maple syrup and taste your hot chocolate. Not sweet enough? Add more maple syrup. You can also work with honey and or extra vanilla that also brings a delicate sweetness. 
5. Turn off the heat and let's dive into chocolate heaven. 

In my crazy world, I would also add a bit of fresh orange zest...I could also imagine to add some reishi, or what about some cayenne pepper to make it spicy? There's a lot one can try, but to be honest...the first thing we need is a basic recipe that we can always turn to and this one is definitely something you, your kids, and grandma will enjoy!
