WELCOME TO OFF COLOR

WELCOME TO OFF COLOR

7:07 AM While I realize that my morning will start without green tea, I am sleepy, but super excited to do today's pose! I feel like the last two days really pushed me and I found poses which I would love to do more often! Just like the shoulder stand. If someone from my high school reads the blog: I still remember when I was a bit heavier as a kid and during gym class, we had to do a shoulder stand. I couldn't do it, so I faked it. My class mate was yelling that I'm doing it wrong and so my teacher came to me and helped me doing it right, while my body just didn't want to cooperate. She let me do my fake stand and went back to work with the other kids. I got into a seated position and gave my class mate the evil eye. Thanks, girl. I was thinking about that scenario again. Today, this means nothing to me. But as a kid, this might hurt you. 15 years later, I can tell myself that I can do it. My body looks good and I am ready for anything out there...I am able to learn and I want to grow more and more - so let's do it!

Today is a new day and we get to know the CHAIR pose.

It is also called Utkatasana and it's good for stretches shoulders and back.

1. Stand in tall. Inhale and raise your arms perpendicular to the floor. Either keep the arms parallel, palms facing inward, or join the palms.
2. Exhale and bend your knees, trying to take the thighs as nearly parallel to the floor as possible. The knees will project out over the feet, and the torso will lean slightly forward over the thighs until the front torso forms approximately a right angle with the tops of the thighs. Keep the inner thighs parallel to each other and press the heads of the thigh bones down toward the heels.
3. Firm your shoulder blades against the back. Take your tailbone down toward the floor and in toward your pubis to keep the lower back long.
4. Stay for 30 seconds to a minute. To come out of this pose straighten your knees with an inhalation, lifting strongly through the arms. Exhale and release your arms to your sides into your starting position.

Let's do this.
Take your time and enjoy it!

If you happen to try out the poses here, make sure to mention #24stretchesforsanta. Holla at me if you like to discuss or ask anything - I'm always there for feedback or support, lovebirds ~
